About Dr. Bethany Piziks
Equine-Partnered Gestalt Coach, EGCMethod Certified Practitioner, Certified Life Coach, Dentist
Dr. Bethany is deeply committed to inspiring dentists who desire to achieve balance, peace, and prosperity within the challenges of working in a dental practice. She practiced as a clinical dentist for over 20 years, six of them in a partnership. In 1997 she started a practice from scratch and immediately realized she was enrolled in the “school of hard knocks,” and experienced the frustration that being a dentist entrepreneur can bring. After hiring a coach and seeing exponential progress in leadership, profitability, and personal growth, she discovered that helping others find the same satisfaction was her true life’s calling.
So she changed her career?
One of the most difficult and courageous decisions Bethany ever made was to leave a very successful career during peak years, and it didn’t happen overnight. However, being a visionary who follows her heart, it became clear that she had to do whatever it took to be free and follow her passion to help others. She sold her practice, became a Certified Life Coach in 2012, and a Certified Equine Gestalt Coach in 2015. Helping others discover their own joy and purpose is at the core of how Bethany serves, and she is now in the business of restoring the human spirit instead of teeth!
How do the horses fit in?
Horses have always been an important part of Dr. Bethany’s life. The mere presence of a horse is healing for the heart, and they speak to us in many ways. Combining the wisdom of horses and the positive effects of coaching, Dr. Bethany facilitates deeply impactful experiences that put restoring the heart and spirit center stage. Come and experience what the horses have to say. No one ever forgets what a 1200 -pound animal teaches them!
When not in the barn coaching clients toward their best life, she is most likely riding her horse, Lewistin. She is also very passionate about eating healthily and spends much time planning and preparing whole-food, plant-based meals. You may also find her swimming, biking, or running to train for a triathlon race. She has completed multiple half-ironman competitions. Being an adventurous, nature-loving spirit, Dr. Bethany also rode Lewistin across the state from Lake Michigan to Lake Huron, 280 miles in 10 days, just for the adventure. It’s hard to say what might be next!
I love Bethany‘s mindfulness and thoughtful approach as she guides the process for her client. Absolutely present, compassionate, and respectful. The gift of healing is powerful in Bethany.Connie, Creston, BC
What is the Equine Gestalt Coaching Method?
The Equine Gestalt Coaching Method® was developed by Melisa Pearce, a core founder since 1989, of the horse-human healing movement. The experiential nature of the method involves the horse as an active partner with the coach in the client’s exploratory process. The integrative approach of the equine’s interaction combined with positive coaching, somatic awareness guidance and Gestalt methodology, assists the client in examining their life and choices made with a focus on designing a positive future.
Bethany carries herself with confidence and grace while keeping her client safe. She moves her client through their process in a very loving way.Marian, Victoria Beach, AB
Hi! My name is Lewistin and I was born in 2007 in Kentucky. I’m a Rocky Mountain gaited horse, which means when you ride me it’s very smooth and I cover miles quickly. This is why Bethany rides me on the Shore-To-Shore horse camping ride each year from Lake Huron all the way to Lake Michigan. I don’t even get tired; I’m an amazing athlete!
Michigan became my home in 2011 and I love living here.
Another of my favorite activities (besides grazing) is helping people heal their hearts so they can live their best lives. That is my essential gift to humanity and the real reason that I’m on the planet. It’s natural for me to do this; I’m always focused in the present moment and am always completely honest and non-judgmental. Sometimes just standing next to a client and offering a listening ear is enough to remove blocks and promote healing, but I usually do much more than that. Bethany is my partner and often I depend on her to interpret my message. We make a great team!
I’m a very sweet boy and would love to meet you. I hope you come soon to hear my message!
Hi! My name is Anna, and I’m the newest horse to join BraveHeart Equine Coaching! I was born in 2009 and raised in Virginia and am a Tennessee Walker. I’ve been doing Equine Gestalt Coaching for a few years and Love my work! Lewistin and I get along well and many say we look like brother and sister. Come on out, I can’t wait to meet you!!
In Memory: Gypsy 1987-2016 Gypsy was the wise elder on the farm and lived with on the ranch from 1996 until her passing in 2016. Gypsy did many things in her equine life, but among her favorites was to help Dr. Bethany restore the human spirit in her clients. She is deeply missed in the herd.
No horse experience is necessary to participate in an EGCM coaching session and you will not ride the horse — although, if have horses, you may find that the EGCM experience deepens the connection with your horses.
